Happy Weekend LOVEs!!!!
I would have never thought that I would ever post a look in my sweatpants! When I say this, I mean it! In a post back in February, I wrote and complained how ugly it is to wear joggers for a day. Yet, now the fashion industry has fully embraced this trend and you can see the Athleisure Look killing on the streets. And no doubt, I am one of those street snap girls!
Although today’s post might not fully inspire you if you are in the Southern Region, (It’s finally 89 degrees here in Seattle!) I am really hoping that you will get some kind of inspiration on the many ways to rock a piece with completely different vibes! I created three looks around my most favorite and comfiest joggers.
I actually wore this look for my interview with a Japanese editor-in-chief of a Seattle Japanese community site (and if you can read Japanese, you can check my feature article HERE) as I totally lost track of time for the appointment. Therefore, this look is actually put together with the clothes that were sitting on my bed.
I didn’t want this look to be so loose, so I decided to top it off with a Saint Laurent boyfriend blazer. I was quite impressed that it turned into a really nice, edgy, and yet sophisticated look. A simple and chic tee shirt is a summer must have and I am wearing the one from Sincerely Jules. I like the way I wear the joggers tucked up right below the knee and pair them with the ankle boots to give a sassy little feel.
You can always swap them for a pair of slingback heels if you wanna go for sleeker style instead. Then, I finished the look by tossing my cap on and some tinted sunglasses.
As for the second look, I simply wore those sweatpants as-is and switched my boots to nude sandals. As you see, the edginess is a little melted down and can give the look a more lax feel. But these little tweaks definitely change the vibe. I like that!
As a blogger whose defined style is alternative, I enjoy trying out any kind of style and I just realized that I haven’t dressed up in a street style inspired look!! I think a cropped top and joggers are such a cool combination and I made it more cool by adding white fishnet tights. I like it this way as it adds a texture and definitely a fashion-forward edge to this sweatpants outfit. Since sweatpants and the cropped top are black, I kept the other pieces brighter in color - like this blush silky bomber jacket, white mirrored sunnies and my favorite Public Desire ankle boots.
Sweatpants are not designed for your best friend on a lazy Sunday, as the easiest workout gear, or only worn as your comfiest airport attire any longer. You can definitely boost your wardrobe with a pair of sick joggers for a daily look and I hope I proved that to you in today’s post!
