Even though I’ve lived in a so-called rainy city for almost 10 years, it never came to mind to own a raincoat. Never!!! Can you guess why? Because no raincoat or jacket I’ve ever seen has ever satisfied me in meeting my expectations of style!! I’d say “Okay I will just buy cute umbrella, then!”
But now, one of my all time favorite everyday-wear “Japanese” brands - UNIQLO - is carrying this awesome outerwear called Blocktech!!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this brand, UNIQLO offers LifeWear for men, women, and children. Their concept of LifeWear is inspired by UNIQLOs' heritage as a global apparel company from my home country of Japan. You guys know how much I am obsessing over blush hues lately, so can you believe this pastel pink tone trench coat is actually a raincoat?

Most of the time, I believe “Being stylish requires endurance.” But you know, to be quite honest, sometimes I just want to dress up with function. So this Blocktech coat literally made my wish come true!!
Another great feature is that this coat has a detachable hoodie, so you can cover yourself from unexpected rain. Outerwear with a hood gives you a casual and playful touch, yet once you take it off, it transforms into a perfect refined outerwear that you could wear over business attire or another polished look. This won’t break the vibe at all!
Although we are still suffering from icy-cold weather, I always want to prepare for spring with lovely colors and patterns. So I paired the Blocktech coat with the Ultra Stretch Jeans in pastel blue also from UNIQLO. Pastel colors are always very “in” these coming months and I really adore the combination of blush and light blue tones together.
These jeans have an incredible fit because of the qualities such as being super comfortable, and stretchy; they’re made with Japanese Kaihara denim. They come in many different designs & are so versatile and comfortable for a mid-rise fit. This pair definitely goes with anything from sneakers to heels - I like how perfectly they go with my sock booties!!
To bring out more of the spring-ready touch, I styled them with a statement polka dot top and a yellow scarf to add more of a pop of color!!
This year to me is all about trying new styles, just like the raincoat. I never owned a down vest because I had the notion that I would never be able to pull it off!! But this UNIQLO Ultra Light Down Vest underneath the Blocktech coat is a life-changer! Even though it’s extremely thin and light, it is SUPER warm! Like S U P E R WARM!
I was blown away by how it can keep me warm!! I have to say, it’s simply a great inner layer and I like how I paired it with a trench coat! Another plus is that this ultra-light down includes a carrying pouch so you can just roll it up to make it compact and sneak it in your bag for easy transport!!
